Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will begin a three-day visit to Wayanad in Kerala starting Monday to review the coronavirus pandemic situation in his parliamentary constituency. Gandhi will arrive in Kozhikode on a special flight and will first go to Malappuram by road to participate in a review meeting called by the collector.
After the meeting, he plans to visit the Government Guest House in Kalpetta, where he will spend the night. He will go to Wayanad the next day. Party leaders have said no public functions are scheduled during Gandhi’s three-day visit. In addition to the Wayanad district, many areas of the Kozhikode and Malappuram districts are part of its constituency.
The former president of Congress will hold a review meeting on Covid-19 at the Wayanad collector on Tuesday, the second day of this visit. You will also hold a DISHA meeting at the Wayanad collection and then return to the Government Guest House in Kalpetta for an overnight stay. On the last day of his visit, Gandhi will visit Mananthawadi District Hospital to take stock. Then you will go to Kannur airport from where you will take a special flight back to Delhi.

There was a controversy last week after Wayanad district collector Adeela Abdulla denied permission to open a new Munderi state school block built with her MP fund. The online feature was canceled by the district administration at the last minute saying the state government was not informed and health protocols were not followed. The congressional party had criticized the decision, saying it was politically motivated.
Kerala reported 7,631 new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday and the death toll in the state reached 1,161 after 22 people succumbed to the coronavirus disease, according to the state health department. So far, 8,410 patients have recovered from the disease.
