New Delhi:
Two union ministers responded today to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his sarcastic tweet about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s views on wind turbines expressed a few days ago during an interaction with Henrik Andersen, director of Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas.
Earlier today, Rahul Gandhi had shared a video of the October 6 interaction with the Vestas Chairman and CEO, saying: “The real danger for India is not that our Prime Minister doesn’t understand. It is the fact that no one around him has the guts to tell him. “

In the video, the Prime Minister is heard saying that if wind turbines could harvest moisture from the air, in addition to producing energy, they could help address drinking water shortages.
“The other suggestion I have is that we can separate oxygen from the air using this same turbine … If this can be done, a wind turbine can provide clean water, oxygen and energy … Can your scientists do something to innovate in that address ?? “PM Modi said.
In response, Mr. Andersen invited him to Denmark, where “you could be the developer of ideas for our research and development.”
Textile Minister Smriti Irani and Trade and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal confronted Gandhi on Twitter today, referring to him as “Yuvraj” and saying he was “ignorant” and “doesn’t understand.”
“They say that ignorance is a blessing, but rarely in Indian politics has an individual made a conscious effort to maintain his ignorance. It seems that the real danger to Congress is blatantly blooming and no one seems to have the courage to tell Yuvraj otherwise. “Said Ms Irani said, reacting to Gandhi’s tweet.

In his tweet, Minister Piyush Goyal said that the prime minister’s ideas were endorsed by the world’s leading company, which the leader of Congress “does not understand.”
“No one around Rahul Gandhi has the guts to tell him he doesn’t understand. He scoffs at PM @ NarendraModi’s ideas when the CEO of the world’s leading company backs them,” the minister said, citing a CNN news report from April 2012 as evidence.
