NEW DELHI: Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi On Saturday he demanded an audit of the PM CARES Fund and said that the account of the money received and spent will be made public.
On March 28, the Center created the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief Fund for Emergency Situations (PM CARES) with the main objective of dealing with any type of emergency situation such as the one currently caused by the Covid-19 outbreak and provide relief to those affected.
“The PM-CARES fund has received great contributions from the PSUs and the main public service companies such as the Railways.
“It is important that the prime minister makes sure that the fund is audited and that the record of money received and spent is available to the public,” Gandhi said in Twitter.
