LUCKNOW / HATHRAS: Congressional Leaders Rahul gandhi Y Priyanka gandhi Vadra met with the family of the Hathras victim on Saturday night and stated that they will fight for justice for the Dalit woman who died after being allegedly gang-raped.
“We will fight injustice and we will fight until justice is done,” Priyanka Gandhi told reporters after the meeting that lasted about 45 minutes.
Rahul Gandhi said that no power can stifle the voice of the family.

Uttar Pradesh The authorities had foiled an earlier attempt by the two leaders to travel to Hathras, detaining them and several party workers in Greater Noida out of Delhi on Thursday.
On Saturday, Congress organized another rally on the Delhi-Noida border, where congressional workers clashed with the police and were allegedly charged with lathi.
When a delegation of congressional deputies and other leaders arrived at the barricades, Noida police said they will allow only five party representatives to meet the family in their village of Hathras, about 150 kilometers away.

The 19-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped on September 14 in a four-man assault that left her seriously injured. She died in a Delhi hospital last Tuesday.
Villagers gathered outside as Congressional leaders entered the family home. Some were spotted on nearby rooftops, hoping to catch a glimpse of Congressional leaders.

UP Congress leaders Pradeep Mathur told PTI that KC Venugopal, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and Mukul Wasnik accompanied the Gandhis on the visit.
There was a strong security presence outside the family home.
