R Madhavan weighs in on Baba Ka Dhaba controversy, says ‘no social media trial here please’ – bollywood

Actor R Madhavan has commented on the Baba Ka Dhaba controversy. Madhavan said he hopes he will be proven wrong, as such incidents deter people from doing good.

After a great deal of support for the elderly couple who run Baba Ka Dhaba, owner Kanta Prasad filed a complaint against YouTuber Gaurav Wasan for embezzlement. Wasan’s viral video highlighted the couple’s plight, encouraging people to show their support. Kanta Prasad has alleged that they only gave him a check for Rs 2 lakh, and has asked Wasan to provide details on the rest of the money. Wasan has denied the allegations and said every penny was given to the couple.

In response to a person who wrote on Twitter that Wasan’s efforts should be applauded, Madhavan wrote: “I totally agree. @ gauravwasan08 has indeed done an incredible job of highlighting the plight of older couples. If this is a false accusation, then we will acknowledge it and we must acknowledge it and applaud it even more and I will. A case has been filed and someone is up to some mischief and we need to establish who, so that the good people who came to do good don’t feel cheated and stop doing this altogether. There is NO social media trial here, please … get the Delhi police to the bottom of this. We all want to keep doing it well. “

Earlier, sharing a report on the couple’s police report, the actor had written: “Elderly owner of Baba ka Dhaba cheated in Delhi? Now this is the kind of thing that gives people a reason not to do good. Unacceptable. Now if this fraudulent couple is caught and punished … FAITH will be restored … @DelhiPolice full faith in you. “

Several celebrities had come forward to share the story of the elderly couple after the video went viral. Actors Suniel Shetty, Swara Bhasker, Sonam Kapoor and many others had posted on social media about the couple, who were struggling to make ends meet due to the pandemic.

Madhavan is working on Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, a biopic of Nambi Narayanan, a former scientist and aerospace engineer with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) who was charged with espionage.
