PUBG Mobile was part of 118 Chinese apps that were banned in India due to security and privacy concerns. Along with the popular Battle Royale game, its lightweight version, PUBG Mobile Lite was also banned in the country. Shortly after the ban, the two apps along with 116 other Chinese apps disappeared from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
Reading the title of this article must have made you think that there might be a workaround to keep playing PUBG Mobile in India. However, this is not the case. The application has been completely banned. So even if you already have the app installed on your phone, you won’t be able to connect to the servers after the ban is fully implemented.
PUBG on PC, PS4, Xbox
If you’ve been a fan of the Battle Royale game and don’t want to switch to another game, you may need to switch devices to continue playing PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
PUBG is still available on PC, PS4, and Xbox. This is because the game was initially introduced for Windows PC by PUBG Corporation, which is owned by BlueHole, located in Korea. The same firm is responsible for the versions of the game for PS4 and Xbox One.
When it comes to the mobile version of the game, China’s Tencent Games approached the Korea-based company to license the game. Then the Chinese company released the game for Android and iOS platforms.
Given PUBG Mobile’s connections to China, the Indian government had to ban it for security and privacy reasons. However, if you are a fan of the game, you can still play it on a PC or a console. Note that the change of device and the difference in mechanics will make you feel like a newbie at first. But once you get the hang of it, you should be able to play with extreme confidence.
