PUBG Corporation Says It Plans To Release A New PUBG mobile gambling in India, after being banned in the country in September due to mobile app links to China’s Tencent. At the time of its ban, the game was the most downloaded title in India, with some 50 million users.
The South Korean developer said it would create a new Indian subsidiary to oversee the title and that the game “would maximize data security and be tailored to local preferences.” The company also pledged to invest $ 100 million in India’s “gaming, e-sports, entertainment and IT industries,” although it did not offer a date for the game’s release date.
The news, reported by TechCrunch, NDTV, and others, it is important to India’s digital ecosystem, suggesting a possible way back for apps and games banned in the country due to security concerns. With PUBG mobile, which was developed by Chinese tech giant Tencent, India also banned TikTok, WeChat, and other Chinese apps. The government cited complaints it received that such applications “steal and surreptitiously transmit user data in an unauthorized manner to servers having locations outside of India.”
Cutting ties with Tencent and localizing development and data warehousing to PUBG mobile, PUBG Corporation could appease digital regulators in India. It would be a significant boost to the corporation’s revenue, given that PUBG mobile it was India’s highest-grossing game in the country at the time of its ban. Earlier this month, it was announced that PUBG mobile it would be hosted in Microsoft’s Azure cloud.
However, PUBG Corporation noted that the relaunched game would have certain “custom for Indian gamers” elements. These include characters who start out fully clothed, green liquid replacing blood, and frame the game as if it takes place in a “virtual simulation training ground”, not in real life. There will also be limits on how long players can use the game “to promote healthy gaming habits for younger players,” the company said. Video Game Analyst Daniel Ahmad famous on Twitter that these were all changes made to the Chinese version of the game developed by Tencent.
The ironic aspect is that India banned the game because of its affiliation with Tencent / China.
However, this custom version. of the game is clearly the Chinese version of Tencent
Green blood? Virtual training ground? Limits on playing time?
