PUBG Mobile India: Government Breaks Silence on Release Date | Technology news

Amid mounting speculation about launching PUBG Mobile India in the Indian market, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) has made it official that the Center has not granted permission to relaunch PUBG Mobile in India.

It should be noted that MEITY had banned PUBG along with hundreds of other Chinese apps in September. Responding to an inquiry from RTI, MEITY stated that “MEITY has not given any permission for the release of PUBG.” The RTI inquiry was submitted on November 30, Insidesport reported.

The electronic sports entity GEM Esports has shared RTI’s response on its Instagram account.

“Dear Sir / Mom: In the month of September 2020, the Government of India, with the consultation of your Department (MEITY), banned several Chinese applications. One of which was Pubg Mobile Game. Now, there is a lot of news that They say that it is being relaunched and the same is done specifically for the Indian public and it will not be detrimental to the nation and its citizens. I would like to know if your department has granted any such permission to the game so that it can be relaunched. ” query submitted through RTI asked

MEITY has responded by saying, “MEITY has not given any permission for the PUBG release”

Previously, Insidesport had reported that PUBG Corporation executives are chasing MeitY officials for more than a month for a meeting, but have yet to get a quote from the government side. The delay in obtaining permission means that PUBG Mobile India will not be launched in the Indian market in the near future.

“PUBG’s efforts were made with the right seriousness, but the situation is such that there has been no headwinds or progress on the matter. We do not see the game returning in India in the next few months, at least not before March of 2021. It’s unfortunate, but everyone has to live with it, ”the PUBG side official told Insidesport.
