PUBG Corp withdraws Tencent Games partnership in India

Last week, the Indian government issued an order to ban 118 Chinese apps in the country, including the popular Battle Royale game PUBG Mobile. While the gaming community has been upset and voiced their opinion on the recent ban, we finally have some good news. PUBG Corporation, Bluehole’s original in-game has come out with an official statement.

According to PUBG Corp, it is aware of the whole situation and is actively investigating the whole issue surrounding the ban. It has also confirmed that PUBG Mobile will no longer be controlled by Tencent Games in India and that PUBC Corp will take on all publishing responsibilities. This basically means that the original South Korean-based gaming company is taking over the responsibilities, and we could soon see that the game will no longer be banned in the country. Tencent had reportedly lost $ 34 billion in terms of market value, just one day after the ban on 118 Chinese apps in India.

This is what PUBG Corp said in their statement:

“PUBG Corporation fully understands and respects the measures taken by the government, as the privacy and security of player data is a priority for the company. She hopes to work hand in hand with the Government of India to find a solution that will allow players to re-enter the battlefields and fully comply with the laws and regulations of India.

In light of recent developments, PUBG Corporation has made the decision to discontinue licensing the PUBG Mobile franchise to Tencent Games in India. In the future, PUBG Corporation will assume all publishing responsibilities within the country. As the company explores ways to bring its own PUBG experience to India in the near future, it is committed to doing so by maintaining a localized and healthy gaming environment for its fans.

PUBG Mobile is the mobile version of Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), an intellectual property developed by PUBG Corporation, a South Korean gaming company. The company is actively involved in the development and publication of PUBG on multiple platforms, including PUBG Mobile in select territories, to provide the best possible gamer experiences. “
