PUBG Mobile comeback news in India has been announced. PUBG Mobile developers announced on Thursday that they will launch a new game called PUBG Mobile India to cater to the Indian market. The game’s fraternity throughout the day remained enthusiastic about the development.
But the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) which had announced a ban on PUBG and 116 other Chinese apps in September remains unfazed and has yet to officially give PUBG any relaxation.
According to a report now from TOI, government sources were unfazed. “Unless they address the concerns, it will be difficult to grant some relaxation,” they said.
In an attempt to satisfy Indian regulators, PUBG Corp said it is working to provide “A safe and healthy gaming environment” with the new version. “As the privacy and security of Indian players’ data are the highest priority, the company will conduct regular audits and verifications of storage systems containing personally identifiable information of Indian users to strengthen security and ensure that their data is managed securely. “ PUBG Corp said.
The big question now is: will the ministry go along with UNBAN PUBG? It is clear that MEITY has not yet given its go-ahead to PUBG Corporation to release a new game.
PUBG returns to India: what PUBG Corporation plans to do to comply with local regulations
The announced return comes at a huge cost to PUBG. To comply with local regulations, PUBG Corporation plans to establish a local office where it will hire more than 100 employees to improve communications and services with players. “In addition to establishing a local office, the company will actively seek to collaborate and leverage local businesses to strengthen its gaming service.” the developers added.
The Corporation and parent company Krafton plan to make investments of $ 100 million (approximately Rs. 746 crore) in India for “Cultivating the local video game, e-sports, entertainment and IT industry.” As of now, the team has not shared a return date for the game.
According to the Corporation, it is preparing to launch a new game called PUBG Mobile India which has been “Created specifically for the Indian market.“The new game will maximize data security for its players and comply with local regulations,” the announcement said. The Corporation states that there will be regular audits and verifications of the storage systems that store the personal information of Indian users to ensure that the data is kept secure.
The developers have also shared that they will improve the content of the game and also customize it for “They reflect local needs.” These changes include a virtual simulation training ground setup, clothing for new characters, and green impact effects instead of red. It will also add a feature to restrict playtime for younger players.
The game was banned in September by the Indian government and around the same time, the Corporation had announced that it would no longer authorize the PUBG Mobile franchise to Shenzhen-based Tencent Games in India.
After that, India will start the defense of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with the pink ball event in Adelaide from December 17th. Testing will follow at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (December 26), the SCG (January 7) and the Gabba (January 15).
