PUBG mobile app has around 33 million active users in India. PUBG was developed by a South Korean company, but the mobile version that has taken off around the world was developed by the Chinese company Tencent.
The list of 118 apps, mostly Chinese, also includes apps from Baidu and Xiaomi’s ShareSave.
These “applications collect and share data surreptitiously and compromise personal data and user information that may pose a serious threat to state security,” the government said in a statement.
He added that the apps threaten the “sovereignty and integrity” of India.
