Producer of Prime Minister Narendra Modi receives threats on social networks | Hindi Movie News

Industrialist Amit B Wadhwani, co-producer of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s biopic about the prime minister headed by Vivekanand Oberoi and directed and co-produced by Sandip Ssingh, has filed a complaint with the cyber cell after receiving death threats online. A Facebook account by the name of Optimistix strongly objected to his association with the film that will be re-released in theaters soon. By posting a picture of him and his baby, the Facebook user threatened his life and made defamatory comments about his family.

Amit says: “I am alarmed. Unlike hate content or sensitive content, the post where threats were received was simply a movie ad and also a biopic of the Prime Minister. I was surprised by the reaction. There was nothing scandalous about saying that my film is being re-released. It is regrettable that law-abiding citizens like ourselves are targeted by ruthless hate propaganda. Threats show that cyberbullying is no longer rare. Now it is a norm. Specifically in Bollywood, which has been in the midst of controversy, a specific unfortunate incident is used to smear anyone who is remotely connected to the industry. ”

Talking about the problems filmmakers face when publishing their content, Amit adds, “Filmmakers always fell prey to agendas. With a lot of money at stake, Bollywood is an easy target. The industry is increasingly viewed through a political lens rather than an artistic lens. The problems in current times have been compounded by recent controversies that have made public opinion adverse. With cinemas still off-limits to the public and government restrictions in place, Bollywood is severely affected due to the closure. ”
