New Delhi: A private laboratory in Bijnor has confirmed that the 22-year-old woman, who was sent to a foster home in accordance with a report from a Bajrang Dal unit to Uttar Pradesh police about an alleged case of ‘love jihad’ punished by the anti-conversion ordinance recently enacted in the state, she had a miscarriage.
Her mother-in-law claimed that the miscarriage was the result of torture inflicted on her at the shelter.

The woman had alleged that the district hospital administered “injections” for which she lost her baby. The hospital denied the allegation and declined to comment.
Following the publication of the results of the private laboratory, the hospital authorities claimed that the fetus was not alive.
The Acting Chief Medical Superintendent of the Moradabad District Hospital, Dr. Nirmala Pathak, said TOI, “The reports provided by the ultrasonologist Dr. RP Mishra clearly said that the fetus was visible but that the heartbeat was not there.”
“We had doubts about the baby when the first ultrasound was done. Heartbeat not found. For the second test we used a Doppler ultrasound but the heartbeat could not be found either. To confirm, I had asked for a trans vaginal examination because sometimes there is a chance that the baby will survive, “he added.
The president of the UP State Commission for the Protection of Children’s Rights had previously stated that the fetus was alive, but could not be reached for comment after the results from the private laboratory were released.
The woman’s husband and brother-in-law were also arrested and jailed for 13 days until the police concluded that there was no evidence to support the forced conversion charge.
Her husband had not been released until Friday night, a Moradabad prison official revealed. TOI on condition of anonymity.
Subsequently, the police filed a report under Section 169 of the CrPC (release of defendant when evidence is deficient) with the district court. “The court ordered her release on personal bonds of Rs 50,000 each,” Vidya Sagar Mishra ASP (rural) from Moradabad said on Friday.
“I have been told for the last five days that he will be released. It hasn’t come out yet. I have not been able to talk to him even after losing my baby, ”the woman said. TOI. “We love each other. What good are marriages registered in court if things like this happen to people in love?” She added.

The state government had approved the draft ordinance on November 24, which establishes a prison sentence of up to 10 years for offenders.
It was enacted amid claims by BJP leaders that a strict law was needed against “love jihad,” a term coined by right-wing activists to discredit interfaith marriages by describing it as part of an alleged conspiracy by Muslim men to convert. Hindu women in the disguise of love.
The Allahabad high court had asked the state government on Friday to respond to a petition challenging the law.
