Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate and lay the foundation for seven urban infrastructure projects worth 541 million rupees in Bihar.
The seven projects include four related to water supply, two related to sewerage treatment and one to riverbank development, the prime minister’s office said in a statement. The Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (BUIDCO), under the state housing and urban development department, will carry out these projects.
The Prime Minister will inaugurate the sewage treatment plants built under Namami Gange, in Beur and Karmalichak, at Patna Municipal Corporation. It will also inaugurate the water supply projects built under the AMRUT Mission in the Siwan City Council and the Chapra City Corporation that will help local residents obtain pure drinking water during the day.
During the virtual event leading up to the Bihar assembly elections scheduled for October-November this year, Modi will lay the foundation stone of the Munger and Jamalpur water supply schemes under the AMRUT Mission to enable locals to obtain clean water through pipes.
The water-related projects ceremony comes two days after Prime Minister Modi kicked off his campaign for the upcoming state elections by inaugurating three oil sector projects worth Rs 900 crore. Calling the state a “powerhouse of talent,” he also praised Prime Minister Nitish Kumar for his good governance.
According to the statement, the prime minister will also lay the foundations for the Muzaffarpur river bank development plan, which is being built under Namami Gange, on Tuesday. Within the framework of the project, three Muzaffarpur ghats – Poorvi Akhada Ghat, Seedhi Ghat and Chandwara Ghat – will be developed and basic facilities such as toilets, information kiosk, changing room, footpath, watchtower, etc., will be made available in the River bank. additional.
