Congressional leader Rahul Gandhi attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday for failing to address complaints from JEE-NEET applicants after the decision of your government to carry out the entrance exams in the middle of the Covid-19. Instead, Gandhi said, the prime minister spoke about the country’s “toy industry” in his monthly outreach program. Mann Ki Baat today.

Gandhi’s comment comes after the Supreme Court allowed the Center to conduct the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) and the National Income and Eligibility Exam (NEET) in September. On Friday, the Supreme Court gave the go-ahead to the College Scholarship Commission to take semester exams at universities and colleges before September 30, while allowing individual states the freedom to postpone exams beyond the date of September 30. September.
NEET will take place on September 13 and JEE is scheduled for the first week of September. Around 9.53 lakh and 15.97 lakh of candidates have registered for JEE and NEET respectively. These exams have already been postponed twice in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
Opposition voices have been raised against the government’s decision to conduct these tests, as coronavirus cases show no signs of abating in the country. On Friday, Congress held nationwide protests and ran an online campaign against the decision, with Sonia Gandhi urging the center to listen to the voices of students.
On the other hand, around 150 academics from different universities have written to Narendra Modi asking him to go ahead with the exams as planned and not give in to the voices of opposition.
