This is PM Modi’s third address to the nation

New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is addressing the nation, a day after his six-hour meeting with chief ministers on the way after May 17, when the national closure of the coronavirus is nearing completion. This is his third address since he announced the shutdown in late March to curb the spread of the highly infectious COVID-19. The Prime Minister announced “Lockdown 4” after May 17, which would be completely different, with new rules. He also announced an economic package of Rs 20 lakh crore for what he called “Self-sufficient Indian Mission” to overcome the coronavirus crisis.

The following are the highlights of PM Modi’s management:

  • It has been more than 4 months that the world is fighting against the coronavirus. 42 lakh have been infected worldwide. More than 2.45 lakh have died. In India, many have lost loved ones. I offer you my condolences.
  • A virus has led to global turmoil. Globally, millions of lives are at stake.
  • Whole world somehow, fighting a battle, working to save lives. This is an unprecedented crisis.
  • Exhausting or accepting defeat is not an option.
  • We need to save lives and move forward at the same time.
  • We have to be careful and follow the rules to live and later. Now that the world is in crisis, we have to be more determined. Our resolution will be greater than the crisis.
  • We need to strengthen our resolution. Since the last century, we have heard that the 21st century belongs to India. The global scenario, we are following the developments. When we see it from the prism of India, it seems that it is not just a dream, we are responsible for ensuring that the 21st century belongs to India.
  • Self-sufficiency is essential. Self-sufficient India is the only way out.
  • We are at a crucial juncture. This crisis has a message for India, an opportunity. I would try to explain it using an example. When the crisis started, not a single kit of PPE was manufactured in India, the N-95s were produced in negligible quantities. Today in India, 2 lakh PPE and 2 lakh N-95 are being produced.
  • India, as this example demonstrates, turned the crisis into an opportunity.
The meaning of self-sufficiency has changed, the global definition is changing. The heritage of India, the culture speak of self-sufficiency, the essence is “the world is one”.
  • India’s self-sufficiency takes into account world peace and coordination. Our heritage, our homeland, when we become self-sufficient, increases the prospects for a safe and prosperous world.
  • When India became free of defecation, the world changed. Whether tuberculosis, malnutrition or polio, India’s action impacted the world. International Solar Alliance is India’s gift to the world in the fight against global warming. Indian medicines serve as a ray of hope in today’s times.
  • The world has begun to believe that we can do very well, that we can contribute to the elevation of humanity. We have had a glorious past. They called us ‘sone-ki-chidiya’. Times changed, we long for development. We are taking steps towards development today.
  • Today we have the resources, the will, we have good talent. We will manufacture the best products, improve quality and modernize the supply chain, we can do this and we will do it.
  • During the Kutch earthquake, there was debris wherever you looked. No one could see back then that things would improve, but Kutch recovered and revived. If we commit ourselves, no objective is impossible, no route is difficult; and today we have the will.
  • India can become self-sufficient. This would be based on 5 pillars:
one) Economy: An economy that takes quantum leaps and not incremental gains.
    2) Infrastructure: Infrastructure is synonymous with modern India.
    3) Our system: A system that helps us make dreams come true, based on technological facilities.
    4) Demography: Vibrant demographics our strength.
    5) Demand: Demand and supply chain, we need to use the potential. We need to increase demand in the nation. Each interested party must be active.
  • Announcement of a special economic package in an attempt to make India self-sufficient. An important link. Around Rs 20 Lakh Crore. Around Rs 20 Lakh Crores, which is around 10% of GDP. The package addresses the sectors on which millions of people depend for their livelihood.
  • Package for farmers, for workers, who regardless of the circumstances, work for the nation. Package for MSMEs, who pay taxes sincerely and contribute. Indian Industry Package. Starting tomorrow, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will report in detail.
  • This means bold reforms, we must move forward. In the last six years, the reforms undertaken, today, in crisis, we are much better.
  • Who could imagine before that the money sent by the government reaches the farmers in their entirety? This imagined when there was no transportation, the offices were closed.
  • The reform seeks to ensure that such a crisis affects agriculture in the least possible way. In an attempt to improve Human Resources and to strengthen the financial system. These reforms will attract investment and help Make in India.
  • We need to compete for a place in the global supply chain. We must play an important role in the global supply chain. With this in mind, various provisions have been made that will lead to greater efficiency in all sectors.
  • Street vendors, workers, help – they have faced difficulties right now and have made sacrifices. Our duty now is to improve them, to work to promote their interests. With this in mind, whether poor, working, fishing, formal or informal, certain key announcements will be made.
  • Local manufacturing, local supply chain – now we realize the importance. Local met our demands, local saved us. Brands that are global were once locally similar. When people used them and they were branded, they became local global. It is time to be vocal for the local.
  • We need to buy local products and spread the word. I am sure we can do this. Your efforts have only increased my faith in you. I am proud to remember that I had asked citizens to buy khadi and support manual workers; and in a short time, demand and sales reached record levels. You also made it a great brand. We obtained the results; and good results.
  • Scientists and experts say that the coronavirus will stay with us for a long time, but we cannot make our lives revolve around this. We will wear masks, we will keep our distance, but we will not lose sight of our targets.
  • In Lockdown 4.0, we will follow the rules, fight COVID-19, and move on. It will be based on suggestions from the state. Details will be released by May 18 after suggestions from the state. We will fight and advance by following the rules. Our responsibility to make India self-sufficient will be powered by the energy of the 1.3 billion people. With new energy and new determination, we need to move forward. Who can stop us then? We can make India self-sufficient; and we will. With faith and hope, I urge citizens to take care of their health and that of those around them.
