Prime Minister Modi’s Donations from his Savings and Auction Proceeds exceed Rs 103 million | India News


NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s donations of his savings and auction proceeds from the gifts he had received over the years have now topped 103 million rupees, sources said Thursday.
It was revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi donated Rs 2.25 lakh for the initial corpus of PM CARE background. When PM CARES was created, PM Modi contributed Rs 2.25 lakh to the fund’s initial corpus.
PM Modi has a long legacy of contributing to public causes ranging from girls’ education to Clean Ganges to the well-being of the underprivileged. These donations have now exceeded 103 million rupees.
In 2019 PM Modi donated Rs. 21 lakh from his personal savings to the Kumbh Mela sanitation worker welfare corpus fund.
Upon receiving the Seoul Peace Prize in South Korea, it had immediately announced that the entire prize money of Rs. 1.3 crore in prizes for Namami Gange, to help clean up the holy river Ganges.
Recently, at an auction of his memorabilia received by Modi during his tenure as PM, Rs. 3.40 crore was collected, which was also donated to the cause of the Namami Gange Mission.
Also earlier, the prime minister had started the auction of gifts that he received until 2015. About 8.35 crore rupees were raised during an auction held in Surat. The amount raised went to the Namami Gange mission.
Upon completing her term as CM of Gujarat, Narendra Modi donated Rs 21 lakh from her personal savings to educate the daughters of Gujarat government personnel.
Modi had also raised Rs 89.96 million by auctioning all the gifts he received as Prime Minister and donated them to the Kanya Kelavani Fund. The money was spent on girls’ education through the scheme.
