In an attempt to discuss the Covid-19 situation in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to meet with leaders from all parties on December 4. Sources informed The Indian Express that the meeting will also involve a discussion on the vaccine implementation schedule and the interaction will take place virtually.

The center is currently conducting extensive backend preparation for the Covid-19 immunization campaign. The government expects to receive and use between 400 and 500 million doses and cover approximately 20 to 25 million people by July 21.
This comes just days after Prime Minister Modi chaired a high-level meeting with top state ministers in which he emphasized the crucial role of states in the administration and distribution of vaccines. At the Nov. 24 meeting, he had directed states to provide their plans to build a final blueprint on the immunization campaign. He had also asked them to build decentralized mechanisms down to the block level in the form of a working group to ensure that the vaccine is distributed smoothly.
India detected 38,772 cases of the novel in the past 24 hours as of 9am on Monday. The country’s 94.31 lakh count of infections includes 4.46 lakhs of active cases, a drop of around 7,000 from Saturday and 443 deaths. Maharashtra, Kerala and Delhi are the biggest contributors to the number of cases in the country.
