Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the nation on the occasion of Diwali and wished the festival would bring “brightness and happiness”. Most of India celebrates the festival of lights on Saturday.
“I wish you all a Happy Diwali! May this party increase the brightness and happiness. May all be prosperous and healthy, ”Prime Minister Modi tweeted.

“This Diwali, let’s also light a Diya like # Salute2Soldiers who fearlessly protect our nation. Words cannot do justice to the sense of gratitude we have for our soldiers for their exemplary bravery. We are also grateful to the families of those at the borders, ”he tweeted.
Continuing the tradition of spending Diwali with soldiers, Prime Minister Modi is likely to travel to Jaisalmer to celebrate the festival with soldiers on the western border. The prime minister has been spending the day with the soldiers since 2014, the year he was first elected prime minister.
