The countdown to the first IPL 2020 match between defending champions Mumbai Indians and last year’s runners-up Chennai Super Kings has begun. The two most successful teams in the Indian Premier League will meet on September 19 in Abu Dhabi. Before the expensive showdown, former Australian fast bowler Brett lee he said he is predicting “great things” for Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma.
Lee, who is currently in Mumbai as part of the IPL broadcast team, was doing a Q&A on Instagram when asked by a fan to name the ‘world’s most dangerous hitters to date’.
The former Australian rapid, who has played for Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL took the name Rohit Sharma and said: “I am predicting great things for Rohit Sharma in this IPL.”

Rohit is the IPL’s third-highest run scorer with 4,898 runs in 188 games averaging 31.60. The dynamic right-hander has scored those runs at a strike rate of 130.82 and has also hit 194 sixes, the second-most by an Indian, in the tournament.
Rohit, who is also the most successful IPL captain with four titles to his name, confirmed Thursday that he will continue to open batting for the Mumbai Indians this season.
“I think I opened the entire tournament last year and will continue to do so even this year,” Rohit said in response to a question from the Hindustan Times during a virtual press conference hosted by the franchise.

The vice captain of India also considered that the correct reading of the conditions would be crucial for the luck of his team.
“The challenge for us will be to adapt to these conditions here that probably none of us are used to, because not many cricketers in our group have played here,” said Rohit.
“I think mentally it’s about going out and understanding what the pitch is doing, and based on that, you need to plan your game, whether it’s hitting or bowling. So we had a good chat with the group about that, ”she explained.
Interestingly, Delhi Capitals head coach and former Australia captain Ricky Ponting also referred to Rohit as the most dangerous player for the Mumbai Indians for this IPL.
