New Delhi: Former President of India Pranab Mukherjee passed away on Monday at the age of 84. He was buried with full military honors in Delhi on Tuesday afternoon. Dairy brand Amul said goodbye to Mukherjee with a scribble.
The doodle shows Mukherjee’s political career. “Farewell to one of the brightest Ratnas in Bharat,” reads the scrawl text. “Tribute to a great politician, president and statesman,” the publication is subtitled.

The political veteran was admitted to the Army Research and Reference Hospital in the Delhi Cantonment on August 10. He underwent surgery for a brain clot. Later he developed a lung infection. Prior to surgery, the Mukherjee had tested positive for coronavirus.
Mukherjee’s political career spanned more than five decades. He held various ministerial portfolios in the Government of India. He was Union Minister of Finance from 2009 to 2012. He served as the thirteenth President of India from 2012 to 2017.
Mukherjee received the Padma Vibhushan, the country’s second highest civilian award, in 2008 and the Bharat Ratna, the country’s highest civilian award, last year.
The news of the passing of the veteran leader of Congress was announced by his son Abhijit Mukherjee. “With great regret, we inform you that my father Shri #PranabMukherjee has just passed away despite the best efforts of the RR Hospital doctors and the prayers, duas and prarthanas of people from all over India. Thank you all hands together, “Abhijit tweeted.
The government has announced a seven-day mourning from August 31 to September 6 for the death of the political leader.
