New Zealand vs West Indies 1st Q20 Result: James Neesham crashed undefeated, while rookie Devon Conway managed 41 to help New Zealand beat the West Indies by five wickets in the first T20I of the three-game series.
In a rain-hit game, Windies rode over undefeated skipper Kieron Pollard 75, to score 180/7 after the match was cut to 16 overs.
New Zealand set a revised target of 176 (DLS method) and Neesham and Conway helped them win (179/5).

However, it was New Zealand’s fast bowler Lockie Ferguson who claimed the ‘Man of the Match’ award as he claimed a player while giving away just 21 runs.
He became the second Kiwi bowler to take a five in T20I. The right arm pacemaker has raced to 19 T20I scalps in nine games.
Speaking of the game, WI got off to a good start as the starters racked up 58 runs for the first wicket. However, from there, they were down to 59/5 in no time.
But Pollard and Fabian Allen added 84 runs for sixth to help Windies reach a solid total.
In response, NZ dropped to 63/4, before Devon Conway, Neesham and Mitchell Santner propelled them to victory.

- The West Indies captain recorded his highest T20I score (75 *).
- Pollard’s 75 undefeated against New Zealand on Friday included eight sixes, the second-most by a No. 6 hitter in a men’s T20I inning (Shaheryar Butt – 9 for Belgium v Czech Republic, August 29, 2020).
- The big hitter outperformed Yuvraj Singh (1,177) and Lendl Simmons (1,189) in terms of T20I runs.
