Poll results from Rajasthan, Telangana and Arunachal show that people prefer BJP: Javadekar

The performance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the zila parishad elections in Rajasthan, the local body elections in Telangana and the gram panchayat elections in Arunachal Pradesh is an indication that people prefer the party and that there is a wave of support for reforms. in agriculture, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said on Wednesday.

“Despite the Corona pandemic, the global economic crisis and the Opposition’s propaganda against agricultural reforms, people everywhere are opting for the BJP,” he said, addressing the media.

The party has won 14 of the 21 zila parishads in Rajasthan, which is a state governed by Congress. “The election result is phenomenal for BJP. The people of rural areas have given the BJP a decisive mandate, defeating Congress by a huge margin, ”said Javadekar.

“The margin of victories is also great. In the Tonk area of (MP) Sachin Pilot, the BJP also won the election of zila parishad. At least four ministers were unable to save the zila parishad in their respective areas. This is an indication of what is to come. It shows how the voters of India prefer the BJP, ”said Javadekar.

He said that since the majority of voters who voted at the zila parishad polls are farmers or people associated with agriculture, that shows that people support agricultural reforms. “In Rajasthan, a trend has been reversed. There, zila parishad elections were usually won by the party in power; It happened in 2010 when Congress was in power and in 2015 when the BJP was in power. But this time, the BJP has won, ”he said.

Referring to the recent progress the party made in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections, where it won 49 seats, up from four seats in previous terms, the minister said there is a pan-Indian preference for the BJP. “It is remarkable that while the BJP won 49 seats and the TRS 55, it is the BJP that got more votes than the TRS,” he said, suggesting the party’s popularity in the southern state.

“Even in Arunachal Pradesh, the BJP has been successful. Of the 240 seats in the zila panchayat, he won 96 unopposed. Of the 8,291 grams of panchayats seats, the BJP gained 5,410 unopposed seats, ”he said.
