Political dynasty greatest enemy of democracy: PM Modi

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who focused on the “political dynasty,” said it was the greatest “enemy of democracy” as those who rise because of their dynasties have no respect or fear of the law as they believe they do. if their previous generations weren’t accounted for for corruption. nobody can touch them too.

Speaking at the second National Youth Parliament Festival in the Central Hall of Parliament, Modi said: “It is now true that the days of those who won elections on the basis of surnames alone are ending. But in politics, this disease of the dynasty is not completely over. There are still people whose ideas, thoughts and goals have to do with the politics of their family and the preservation of their family in politics. “

The prime minister said that this dynasty burdens the country with “akshamta” (disability) and results in a lack of respect for the law. “Political dynasty instead of nation first solidifies the feeling of ‘just me and my family.’ This is also a great reason for political and social corruption. Those who have grown up from the dynasty think that if the corruption of their previous generations is not accounted for, no one will be able to do anything to them. They see successful examples of that in their homes. Therefore, these people have no respect for the law nor are they afraid of it, ”Modi said.

Urging young people to join politics, he said that the responsibility to change the situation was on their shoulders, “not to take or to possess or to become, but to do something.”

With the National Youth Parliament Day which is celebrated on the anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s birth, Modi referred to him several times and said that Vivekananda had focused on the growth of both individuals and institutions, and the New Politics of Education was a step forward in that regard. Modi said the ecosystem NEP was seeking to develop would make available an education system that would avoid the urge to go abroad.

“This policy places the highest priority on the wishes of the young, their talent, their understanding… choose any stream. If you want to take a break from one course and choose another, you can. Now, it won’t happen that the hard work you put in in your previous course will go to waste, ”Modi said.

The event was also attended by ministers Kiren Rijiju and Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Lok Sabha spokesperson Om Birla.

Modi also said that in times of crisis, there were opportunities to build new structures, referring to the Gujarat State Disaster Management Law enacted in 2003 when he was Chief Minister as a precursor to the National Law which, according to him, had saved many lives. during the pandemic.
