The mask should only

If there is more than one person in a car and a group of people are exercising, wear a mask and maintain social distancing so as not to infect each other, Union health secretary Rajesh Bhushan said at a press conference.

Complaints against challans

A large number of people have recently complained of being reprimanded for not wearing a mask while inside their cars as COVID-19 cases skyrocketed in the country.

Responding to a question on whether it is necessary to wear a mask while driving a car or cycling alone, Bhushan clarified: “There are no Ministry of Health guidelines on wearing a mask if a person drives a car or rides a bicycle alone.” .

On average, the Delhi Police have been fining 1,200 to 1,500 people every day for traveling in a vehicle without masks.

The police are not wrong

When asked by the Hindustan Times, a senior Delhi police officer said that to date they are following guidelines issued by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), dated June 13, which say that anyone who does not wear a face mask in a public place should be responsible for the fine of 500.

“Because a car is considered a public place, we are imposing fines. Any officer of the rank of deputy inspector or higher may impose the fine. We have not yet received a written order stating otherwise. As soon as we receive the new directives, we will start following them, ”the police officer said.
