Police Block Journalists and Others from Singhu Border Protest Site

At the Singhu border, Delhi police stopped the entry of journalists and others who wanted to visit protesting farmers on Tuesday.

Farmers have protested on the Singhu border against the three new agricultural laws passed by the Center for more than two months.

Before, those who wanted to visit the place of the protest and the main stage could cross the barricades that prevent farmers from entering the Capital and interact with the protesters or provide them with any other type of support. Even the smaller lanes and other entry routes to the protest site were blocked.

On Friday, a group of “locals” confronted farmers after they stoned and tried to damage tents and other public services. The Delhi Police had to control the situation by firing tear gas and using a lathi charge to keep the peace.
