The Poco X3 NFC was launched today at a global online event and the phone was clearly made with the smartphone gaming audience in mind. The powerful successor to the Poco X2 has a lot of new features and also has a number of similarities to its predecessor. The phone has not yet been launched on the Indian market. The Poco X3 is expected to arrive in the country later this month.
Let’s take a look at the notable improvements the Poco X series has seen in a few months.
Poco X3 vs Poco X2: Screen and design
Poco X2 had a 6.67-inch FHD + display with a 120Hz refresh rate that was impressive for a mid-range smartphone. The screen size remains the same on the Poco X3, but it has a DynamicSwitch refresh rate of 120Hz that will change the refresh rates based on use to save battery life. For example, it will be at its best when running a high FPS game and will drop as low as 50Hz when you’re just viewing a still image and not scrolling. For gamers, it also offers a higher touch sampling rate of 240Hz which is expected to give users an advantage over other gamers.
The Poco X2 also had a dual camera setup on the front in the upper right corner, but the Poco X3 has ditched the extra camera with a small dot measuring just 3.8mm at the top of the phone. The newer phone design looks good with curved edges. However, there is a big difference in the location of the brand. The Poco X2 had the brand’s name written across the bottom of the rear panel. In the newer version, the brand name is huge, it looks huge. Also, there is a color tone difference on the rear panel. On the front it has a Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Poco X3 vs Poco X2: Processor

It has an AnTuTu benchmark score of 30.1581. The Kyro 470 CPU can reach 2.3 GHz and offers powerful performance.
Poco X3 has an added advantage over its predecessor as it comes with LiquidCool Technology 1.0, which will have a 70% larger heat pipe. Little claims it will be perfect for hours of gaming with the new technology. For added cooling, Poco also partnered with BlackShark to provide accessories that can be attached to the back and will keep the processor from getting hot.
Poco X3 vs Poco X2: Camera
Poco X2 featured a rear quad camera setup that carries a 64MP main camera that clicks 16MP images via pixel binning. It’s backed by an 8MP and 2MP ultra-wide macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. The camera design has changed on the Poco X3 with a rectangular module compared to the vertical one on the Poco X2. The new phone has a 64MP Sony IMX 682 sensor that has a huge sensor size and a 1.6-micron Super Pixel 4-in-1. There is a 119 degree ultra-wide 13MP camera along with a 2MP Telemacro camera and a 2MP depth sensor.
There are a few filters too, including Gold Vibe, Cyberpunk, and Kaleidoscope mode. Poco X3 also has AI Skyscaping 3.0 which can turn any daytime shot into a nighttime shot.
