Amit B Wadhwani, co-producer of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s biopic, has filed a complaint with the cyber cell after receiving threats online. Modi’s biopic is among the first to be re-released in theaters after they were reopened following the coronavirus lockdown.
Wadhwani has said that a Facebook account by the name of Optimistix Optimistix had left a threatening comment on a post about the relaunch of the Modi biopic. The person also allegedly accused Wadhwani of participating in the killing of Sushant Singh Rajput and had made abusive comments to his daughter.
In an interview for the Mumbai Mirror, Wadhwani said: “I don’t even have a daughter. What was scarier, though, was that he also posted a photo of me and my two-year-old in the comments. I never posted that photo on Facebook. ”An FIR has been filed against the person who owns the account in question, according to the report cited by a police officer.

In a statement, Wadhwani said: “I have been active on social media and have contributed as a thought leader in the industry and also provide updates on the latest business movements and industry trends. As Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s co-producer, I have received threatening comments on social media warning me of dire consequences. While trolls are common and insignificant, the nature of the threat and my family’s involvement in this is unsettling for a law-abiding citizen and business leader like myself. He wasn’t sure if there is a broader nexus or pattern given the recent developments in the Bollywood industry. I filed an official complaint with the cyber cell that has assured me to investigate this. “
Recently, the producer and writer of Modi’s biopic, Sandip Ssingh, filed a 200 million rupee defamation lawsuit against certain news outlets for publishing negative stories about him regarding Sushant’s death case.
