NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra modi on Thursday he said that India has faced all difficulties in fighting the coronavirus pandemic and has the ability to strengthen global supply chains.
Take the World Economic ForumDavos dialogue via video conference, Modi said that India launched ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ with the determination to increase the capacity of our economy.
Highlighting India’s efforts to take proactive steps to combat Covid, the prime minister said that two Indian-made vaccines have already been introduced to the world and that many more vaccines from the country will soon be available.
These are the key points of Modi’s leadership:
* In just 12 days, India has vaccinated more than 2.3 million health workers. In the coming months we will reach our goal of vaccinating 300 million older people and people with comorbidities.
* India is saving the lives of people in many other countries in the world by shipping Covid vaccines and developing the necessary infrastructure for vaccination.
* India launched ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ with the determination to increase the capacity of our economy.
* We have conducted reform after reform to provide a high growth trajectory for the economy this decade.
* India emphasized saving every life and is now walking towards becoming atmanirbhar (self-sufficient).
* We continued economic activities even during the pandemic with infrastructure works worth trillions of rupees, which provided employment.
* India has assumed its global responsibility from the beginning. When airspace was closed in many countries, we brought more than 1 lakh of citizens to their countries and delivered essential medicines to more than 150 countries.
* The government has continuously taken several important steps to boost manufacturing in India.
* The corporate tax rate has been reduced to 15 percent for new manufacturing units.
* GST fees have been reduced. Through GST and the faceless appraisal tax structure has been simplified. Labor laws have been reformed
* Several points in company law have been decriminalized.
* To increase competitiveness, the connectivity infrastructure has been strengthened. During the pandemic, we saw that Indian companies are able to cope with the supply crisis, they kept the medical supply in India and around the world.
* Transactions on the UPI platform have exceeded 2 billion per month. An important part of these transactions is carried out through applications developed by private players.
* In December, transactions worth Rs 4 lakh crore enabled through UPI systems. Several countries seek to replicate UPI networks.
* We promote investment in cutting-edge technologies such as AI, additive manufacturing, and interdisciplinary cyber-physical systems.
