Noting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s approval rating is the highest among world leaders in a poll conducted by an American data firm, BJP Chairman JP Nadda said today that this is a testament to his capable leadership. and a source of pride for all Indians.
While Nadda tweeted to praise Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the BJP also held a press conference in which Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said it is a “rare phenomenon” that the prime minister’s public approval has risen by the past six years, challenging the general trend of fluctuating ratings for most leaders.
The American firm Morning Consult, which regularly tracks approval ratings of world leaders, said that more than 75 percent of people approve of PM Modi, while 20 percent disapprove of him, putting his approval rating net at 55 percent.
This is higher than any other world leader the firm tracks.
Referring to the poll, Nadda tweeted that Prime Minister Modi has once again emerged as the most popular head of government for his efficient handling of various issues and handling of the COVID-19 crisis.

According to the Morning Consult poll, the approval rating for German Chancellor Angela Merkel was 24 per cent, while it was negative for UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson as more people disapprove of her work than those of her. approve.
Mr Javadekar attributed Prime Minister Modi’s high approval rating to his foresight and leadership skills. He said the government’s “successful” handling of the COVID-19 pandemic has further increased its popularity.

Mr Javadekar said Prime Minister Modi’s approval rating of 55 percent is nearly double that of the second most popular leader in the list of 13 democratic heads of state, including those of the United States, France, Australia and Brazil.
He noted that the Morning Consult poll follows similar polls from the global agency Gallup and India’s CVoter, which also saw very high approval for PM Modi.

Asked about the warning from farmers’ unions protesting to intensify their agitation against the three farm laws if the government does not agree to their demands, the minister said the Center is hoping to solve the problem and end the his agitation.
The protesting farmers had said on Friday they will have to take firm action if the government does not make a decision in their favor in the next round of talks scheduled for January 4.
Earlier today, they said they would hold a tractor parade to Delhi on January 26 if the government does not accept their demands.
Referring to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s approach to farmers, Mr. Javadekar said that what the BJP leader had said is the government’s opinion as well.
When asked about Rahul Gandhi’s accusations that the government gave up a large number of loans from some industrialists, Javadekar said that no one can match the leader of Congress in spreading “false” information.
