Prime Minister Narendra Modi will mark eight trains connecting different regions of the country with Kevadiya in Gujarat via video conference at 11 a.m. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Union Minister of Railways Piyush Goyal will also participate in the online ceremony.
The trains will be inaugurated to boost tourism in the tribal region and facilitate connectivity to the tallest statue in the world, the Statue of Unity, which the Prime Minister inaugurated in October 2018 on the occasion of the 143rd anniversary of the birth of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. .

The Ahmedabad-Kevadiya Jan Shatabdi Express, one of the eight trains, has been equipped with the “Vista-dome tourist coach,” the Ministry of Railways said. These coaches offer spacious viewing areas with roof glass and passenger seating.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate the converted Dabhoi – Chandod Gauge wide gauge railway line, the new wide gauge Chandod – Kevadiya railway line, the newly electrified Pratapnagar – Kevadiya section and the new buildings. from Dabhoi, Chandod and Kevadiya station. It will also launch a new broad gauge line and the new buildings at Dabhoi, Chandod and Kevadiya stations.

“These buildings have been designed aesthetically incorporating local features and modern comforts for passengers. Kevadiya Station is India’s first railway station with a green building certification,” said the PMO.
“The projects will add momentum to development activities in nearby tribal regions, boost connectivity to important religious and ancient pilgrim sites located on the banks of the Narmada River, increase national and international tourism, act as a catalyst for the overall socio-economic development of the region and at the same time help generate new jobs and business opportunities, “he added.
