Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the groundwork for 30 projects worth 614 million rupees in Varanasi via video conferencing on Monday, a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said on Sunday.
At a press conference on Sunday, Kashi Region BJP Chairman Mahesh Chandra Srivastava said Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate 16 schemes worth more than Rs 219 million and lay the foundation for 14 projects worth Rs. more than 394 rupees.
The head of the BJP unit in Uttar Pradesh Swatantra Dev Singh and four ministers will attend the ceremony at different locations in the city, he said.
Srivastava said that the transformation that has been taking place in Kashi since 2014 was visible on the ground. He underlined that there was a big difference between Varanasi in 2020 and the situation in the city before 2014.
As a local deputy, Prime Minister Modi has left no stone unturned to ensure the comprehensive development of Varanasi, he said. The cleanup mission had cleared lanes and ghats, he added.
Six locations have been selected for the live broadcast of Monday’s show in the city. Locals and party workers will join the event at the Circuit House, Dashashwamedh Ghat, Shultankeshwar Temple, Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport and the Trade Facilitation Center.
Navratan Rathi, Kashi Region BJP Media Officer, said BJP Head of State Swatantra Dev Singh, Minister in Charge of Varanasi Ashutosh Tandon, Minister of State (independent charge) Ravindra Jaiswal and the Kashi region chairman of the party, Mahesh Chand Srivastava, will remain in attendance. at the Circuit House.
Similarly, UP co-manager BJP Sunil Ojha and Cantt MLA Saurabh Srivastava will be present in the commissioner’s auditorium.
The Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism and Religious Affairs, Neelkanth Tiwari, along with party workers, will be present at Dashashwamedh Ghat. Cabinet Minister Anil Rajbhar will be present at the headquarters of the Center for Trade Facilitation, Bada Lalpur.
Members of the military justice Avadhesh Singh and Surendra Singh will attend the function at the airport and Shultankeshwar temple respectively.
Among the projects that Modi will inaugurate are an improved Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, Ramnagar, infrastructure facilities for the protection and conservation of cows, multipurpose seed warehouse, 100 MT warehouse of agricultural products, Integrated Energy Development Scheme phase 2 , Sports Housing Complex at Sampurnanand Stadium, Varanasi City Smart Lighting Works and 105 Anganwadi Kendras.
The local unit of Congress has objected to the inauguration ceremony for the projects because of the model code of conduct for the legislative council voting to elect graduate members of the constituency. Congressional leader Ajay Rai says the so-called development project presentation ceremony is a violation of the model code of conduct. Management should stop it. A congressional delegation on Saturday presented a memorandum to divisional commissioner Deepak Agarwal, asking him to stop the event.
