Registration on the Co-WIN2.0 portal will open today at 9 am. Citizens will be able to register and book an appointment for vaccination, anytime and anywhere, using the Co-WIN 2.0 portal or through other computer applications such as Arogya Setu. According to the ministry, there will be a registration facility on site so that eligible beneficiaries can enter identified vaccination centers, register and be inoculated. Eligible people will be able to register on the Co-WIN2.0 portal through their mobile number, through a step-by-step process.
With a mobile phone number, a person can register up to four beneficiaries. However, all those registered with a mobile number will have nothing in common except the mobile number, the ministry said. The photo identification card number for each beneficiary must be different. Citizens can use any of the following photo IDs to make use of online registration: Aadhaar card / letter, Election Photo Identity Card (EPIC), passport, driver’s license, PAN card, NPR smart card or document of pension with photograph.
All vaccines provided to beneficiaries at government health facilities will be totally free, while private facilities cannot charge the beneficiary more than Rs 250 per person per dose (Rs 150 for vaccines and Rs 100 as operational charges) the ministry said. Private hospitals will have to remit the cost of the vaccine doses assigned to them to a designated account of the National Health Authority (NHA). The NHA is setting up the payment gateway for the same on its website, the ministry said.
