PM Modi says the nation stands behind our soldiers

Parliament Session: Prime Minister Modi sent a message about China’s dispute in LAC.

New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his traditional remarks before the parliament session, delivered a strong message on China’s border dispute. “We hope that parliament and all members will send the message together that the nation supports our soldiers,” Prime Minister Modi said.

“Our soldiers stand firm on the borders with a lot of courage, passion and determination to protect their homeland. They are at difficult heights and in a few days they will weather the snow. In the same way, I am sure that parliament will send a message. , with one voice, that you stand firmly behind the soldiers who protect our borders, “said the Prime Minister.

The Chinese aggression since May on the Royal Line of Control (LAC), the de facto border between the two countries, and the government’s response, is expected to be raised by the opposition in the truncated 18-day monsoon session, the first to be celebrated since the coronavirus outbreak took over the world.

The government is likely to make a statement in parliament on the standoff between India and China, which peaked in June when 20 Indian soldiers were killed in the line of duty in a clash with the Chinese in the Galwan Valley.

Chinese soldiers have made multiple attempts to drive Indian troops out of key locations in recent weeks. In their last attempt last week, Chinese soldiers armed with spears and pistols attempted to force a medieval-style physical fight before being forced to retreat. Both sides blamed each other for shooting into the air when shots were fired for the first time in 45 years.

Staggered sessions of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, distancing between MPs at home, work weekends and limited visits will mark the session.

The prime minister said that until there is a vaccine, “we cannot lower our guard” and we must follow the virus protocol.

“This session of parliament takes place in special circumstances. There is crown and there is duty. Parliamentarians have chosen the path of doing their duty in times of COVID,” he said.
