On Constitution Day
- Today is the day to pay tribute to the inspiration of Pujya Bapu, the commitment of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Many of those representatives had paved the way for the Navnirman of India. The country must remember those efforts, for this it was decided to celebrate November 26 as Constitution Day 5 years ago.
- Everything from the role of the three parts of the constitution to decorum is outlined in the Constitution itself. In the 1970s we saw an attempt to dissolve the dignity of the ‘separation of powers’, but the country found the answer in the Constitution.
- After that emergency period, the Checks and Balances system grew stronger and stronger. The legislative, executive and judicial branches, all three, learned a lot from that period and moved forward.
- The maturity that has been introduced by more than 130 million people from India. A big reason for this is that all Indians have full faith in all three parts of the Constitution. There has also been constant work to increase this belief.
The terrorist attacks of 11/26 in Mumbai
- Today it is associated with the largest terrorist attack in the country. In 2008, terrorists from Pakistan attacked Mumbai. Many Indians died in this attack. People from many more countries died. I pay my respects to all those killed in the Mumbai attack.
- Many of our policemen were martyred in this attack. I bow to them. Today’s India is fighting terrorism with new policies, new methods.
- Today I also pay tribute to our security forces who are trying to defend India, who are thwarting the conspiracy, such as the Mumbai attack.
