Mamata Banerjee has asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Secretary Amit Shah to explain why the Center wants to send a team to Bengal to examine violations and dilutions of the coronavirus blockade. Two inter-ministerial teams will visit seven districts, including the state capital Kolkata, to investigate reports of the blockade regulations being violated.
Shortly after the Interior Ministry announced this in an order, the Bengal Chief Minister tweeted, saying that until the Prime Minister and Home Secretary shared why the decision was made, their state would not be able to cooperate.
“We welcome all constructive support and suggestions, especially from the central government to deny the # Covid crisis19. However, the basis on which the center proposes to deploy IMCT (Inter-Ministerial Core Teams) in selected districts across India, including some in West Bengal is unclear, “Mamata Banerjee tweeted on Monday.
“I urge both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Secretary Amit Shah to share the criteria used for this. Until then, I am afraid, we could not move forward on this as without valid reasons this might not be consistent with the spirit of federalism” , said.

Both core teams landed in Bengal within 15 minutes of the state government being informed, chief secretary Rajiva Sinha said at a press meeting.
The Chief Minister was not present at the press meeting.
Questioning how the core teams have come to the state, Mr. Sinha said: “They told us, they did not ask us, about the visit of the core teams. Two teams landed within 15 minutes of informing us of their visits. One team landed in Jalpaiguri, another in Kolkata. “
“They are behaving as if we are hiding something. We will not let them roam the state. The way they have come and gone to the field with the BSF, we cannot accept this. We have told them to come talk to us. Decide if you need to go to the field, “added Sinha.
The chief secretary will meet with the teams later today and brief them.
The center is believed to be concerned about reports of “dilution” and “violation” of the Bengal bull run; For example, confectioneries have been allowed to do business across the state, originally for 4 hours a day, but then extended to 8 hours.
