New Delhi: In an attempt to repeat an attack similar to the Mumbai terrorist attack on 11/26, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) has teamed up with Pakistan-based Don Dawood Ibrahim, leading intelligence sources told News18.

Sources said Ibrahim was seen in Islamabad on Sunday at his farm, which is next to the residence of former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf. Intelligence sources said the gift had gone with a team from Pakistan’s spy agency, Intelligence Between Services (ISI), for a meeting with LeT leaders.

According to an interception, LeT plans to send weapons to Gujarat or Maharashtra by sea. He said the ISI wants to create riots while most of the Indian security paraphernalia is busy tackling COVID-19 and sees the pandemic as a great opportunity to attack major Indian cities. Abdul Rehman Makki, the Pakistan-based LeT second-in-command, recently visited Karachi to coordinate the plan and met with Dawood to discuss the future course of action, the sources said.

Intelligence sources further said that Pakistan’s spy agency has asked Dawood Company D to request its Indian modules to carry out the task of dispatching weapons within India. ISI wants Lashkar to use local D Company agents for this job.

ISI is desperate to carry out a 26/11 magnitude Mumbai attack as it has been unable to carry out any major terrorist activity after the implementation of Article 370 in Kashmir in August 2019, the sources said.

For the outcast Lashkar, this will be a great opportunity to bounce back in the terror business as the ISI, according to sources, is using only Jaish-e-Mohammed these days for attacks in Kashmir.
