ISLAMABAD: The son of a well-known Pakistani philanthropist, who met with Prime Minister Imran Khan last week, has tested positive for the coronavirus.
Faisal Edhi, the son of famous philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi and president of the Edhi Foundation, began showing symptoms last week shortly after meeting with Prime Minister Khan in Islamabad on April 15, the Dawn newspaper reported Tuesday.
“The symptoms lasted four days before it disappeared,” said his son Saad.
Soon after, the COVID-19 test was done and the results were positive, “he added.
Saad added that his father was currently in Islamabad and was doing better.
“He has not been admitted to any hospital and he isolates himself,” he said.
Faisal met with Khan last week and handed him a check for Rs 10 million for the prime minister’s coronavirus relief fund.
Until now, it was not known whether Prime Minister Khan would be tested.
The Edhi Foundation was founded by the late Abdul Sattar Edhi and is the leading charity.
