Anxiety gripped locals in Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida on Saturday when they noticed a strange flying object in the sky that later turned out to be an ‘Ironman’ shaped balloon filled with air, according to police.
The object was seen in the sky over the Dankaur area in the morning and then landed in a canal near the village of Bhatta Parsaul, where a crowd had gathered to see what some of them thought was “an alien”, authorities said.
“It was an air-filled balloon that had risen to the sky and then came down and got stuck in the bushes along the canal. A part of the balloon was touching the water flowing in the canal, which had caused the balloon to shake a bit. Unbeknownst to the spectators, this generated an anxious look, ”Anil Kumar Pandey told PTI Dankaur SHO.
He said that one of the main reasons behind anxiety among the people was the unusual shape of the balloon.
“It was shaped like the Ironman (fictional superhero character) given its color and design. This was an unusual sight, so some people even thought it was an alien, or something like that, and they were concerned, “said Pandey.
The official said the balloon was taken out around noon and apparently fell over because it was losing its gas.
There was nothing harmful about the object, but it had not yet been determined who floated it in midair, he added.
