PDP chief Mehbooba meets with Farooq, Omar Abdullah | India News

NEW DELHI: One day after being released from detention, the head of the PDP Mehbooba Mufti I met the supreme of the J&K National Conference Farooq Abdullah and his son and former J&K CM, Omar.
Omar tweeted a photo of him sitting with Mehbooba, alongside his father Farooq.
“My father and I called Mehbooba Mufti Sahiba this afternoon to inquire about his well-being after his release from detention, “Omar tweeted.

He also said that Mufti agreed to join a meeting of the signatories of the Gupkar Declaration tomorrow.
Mehbooba, detained since August last year, was released last night by the J&K administration.
Mehbooba thanked the Abdullahs for their insight and also said she is sure they can change things “together”.

The release of the head of the PPD occurred before the expiration of the deadline set by the Supreme Court, to which her daughter Iltija Mufti had addressed with a petition for habeas corpus challenging her “illegal” detention. On September 29, the CS had given the Jammu and Kashmir administration until October 14 to explain how long they intended to keep Mufti in custody.
