Parts of the city receive rain, temperature drops


For the fourth day in a row, it feels like the end of the monsoon in Mumbai with light to moderate showers.

Mumbai City and surrounding areas Thane, Kalyan, Dombivali, Palghar, Raigad regions have been receiving rains since Monday morning.

There has also been a drop in temperatures with smog engulfing parts of the city, leading to decreased visibility.

KS Hosalikar, Head of the Regional Meteorological Center said: “Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai received light rain in the last six hours in most places, as seen in the rain monitoring networks with yellow and green spots.

Whereas, in the last 3-4 hours, Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Palghar Raigad received moderate rains

“Cloudy sky over Mumbai and its surroundings, expected to open in the latter part of the day,” he added.

Hosalikar said that the movement of the clouds is towards the coast along with the intensification as seen from Radar.

According to the IM D Forecast, it will be cloudy with storms with the minimum temperature of 22 degrees Celsius for the next 48 hours.

Several social media users also used Twitter to share photos and videos of the rains.
