New Delhi: Congress leader Pankaj Punia has been arrested in Karnal on charges of making an objectionable post on the social networks. He will be produced before court tomorrow.
Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh Police also filed a case against Haryana, Congress leader for allegedly “hurting religious feelings” and do “explosive situation” through a social media post.

A senior police official told PTI that Punia, who is also a member of the Congress Committee of All India, has been booked under the IPC sections related to the promotion of enmity between different groups (153 A), outraging religious sentiments (295 (A), public problems: (505-2), and some sections of the Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2008.
The FIR was registered by the cyber cell Sub-Inspector Suresh Giri.
“During the monitoring of social media, we realized that the tweet of the leader which referred to a particular community and their God. There is a possibility of this religious and political leader of the fighting. It has created an explosive situation,” said Giri in his complaint.

The Minister of finance, Nirmala Sitharaman also slammed Priyanka Gandhi Vadra saying that the Congress-ruled states had seen few trains arriving with the migrant workers, which highlighted the ” hypocrisy of the Congress.’
