The police have searched and detained the woman’s husband, Naresh Kumar.
Acting on the basis of information that a woman was held captive by her husband, the DWPO, Rajni Gupta, arrived at the scene together with a police team and rescued her.
Gupta said the woman was found lying on the toilet in a miserable state. She had been imprisoned in the bathroom for over a year and could not even support herself due to her extreme weakness. He said the woman was taken to a civil hospital after being rescued and handed over to her cousin.
Husband withheld, children for counseling
The DWPO said the couple had been married 17 years ago and had three children: a 15-year-old daughter and two sons, 13 and 11.
The DWPO said it had written to the district’s child welfare committee to advise the woman’s children, who did not object to their father’s reprehensible act.
The woman’s husband claimed that he suffered from mental health problems, but was unable to produce any supporting documents. Referring to this, Gupta said the woman was able to identify all the people and answer all the questions posed by the team. Her husband was unable to produce any documents about her treatment. Even if someone has a mental illness, no one can act this way with him / her. We will secure the strongest action against the accused. ”
Sanoli Police Station SHO Surender Dahiya said that a case was registered against the woman’s husband, Naresh Kumar, under sections 498 A and 342 of the IPC over the DWPO complaint and that the accused was arrested. .
