KARNAL: A 35-year-old woman who was confined to a 3×3 foot bathroom for the past year and a half allegedly by her husband, was rescued by the district women’s protection officer (DWPO) from Rishpur village in Haryana’s Panipat district on Tuesday.
The police have searched and detained the woman’s husband, Naresh Kumar.

Acting on the basis of information that a woman was held captive by her husband, the DWPO, Rajni Gupta, arrived at the scene together with a police team and rescued her.
