This is the first time that the country’s government openly admits its role in last year’s attack.
Chaudhury’s boastful claims came after the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, recounted the tension within the Pakistani government in February last year while speaking to Dunya News during a schedule on Wednesday.
Sadiq had revealed that the army chief, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, was sweating and “his legs were shaking” as foreign minister. Shah Mahmood Qureshi He said that if the Indian Air Force wing commander Abhinandan Varthaman was not released, India would attack Pakistan “at 9 pm”.
The attack, in which 40 CRPF Jawans were killed, was claimed by the Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Muhammed.
The National Investigations Agency (NIA) had recently submitted a charge sheet in the terrorist attack case that referenced the role of Pakistani state actors, including ISI.
Pakistan, which has repeatedly denied involvement in the attacks, rejected the charge sheet, calling it a “malicious attempt” to implicate Islamabad in the attack.
