Ahead of the biggest Diwali festival, Pakistan on Friday resorted to multiple ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC) from the Gurez sector to the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir. Until the latest reports came in, three Indian army soldiers and one BSF personnel were martyred and three civilians were also killed throughout LoC in Pakistan shooting, according to the army.

In the unprovoked violations of the ceasefire, three soldiers and many other civilians were also injured along the LoC in various sectors, including Dawar, Keran, Uri and Naugam, Gurez sector of three northern Kashmir districts. The Indian army said that “substantial damage has been caused to the infrastructure of the Pakistani army.”
In a statement issued by the Srinagar-based Army PRO, Colonel Rajesh Kalia said “substantial damage” was caused to the Pakistani Army infrastructure in addition to casualties throughout the LoC in retaliation. “Several ammunition depots, FOL depots and multiple (militant) launch pads have been damaged,” the statement read.

It also read: “Pakistan initiated an unprovoked violation of the ceasefire throughout the LoC spread across multiple sectors to include Dawar, Keran, Uri and Naugam. Pakistan used mortars and other weapons. Pakistan deliberately targeted civilian areas. ”

A BSF deputy inspector was martyred in Pakistan for violation of the ceasefire. BSF PRO said: “In the violation of the ceasefire initiated by Pakistan, an officer from BSF Sub Insp. Rakesh Dobhal gave his life while retaliating accordingly.”
Earlier, around 4 am, according to the statement issued by the Indian army, Indian troops thwarted an infiltration attempt. Defense PRO 15crops Srinagar said: “The troops themselves observed suspicious movements at the outposts along the line of control (LoC) in Keran sector today.
