QUETTA: While on their way to a public meeting in the Bacha Khan Chowk, the leaders of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) formed by 11 parties alliance, said the mistaken policies of the government led by Imran Khan had brought the country to the brink of economic disaster.
Dawn PDM quoted saying that the fight they had launched would continue until the overthrow of the rulers who had been “imposed on the country after stealing the mandate of the people in the 2018 elections.”
The head of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam, Maulana Abdul Wasey, Senator Usman Kakar of the Pakhtunkhwa Party Milli Awami, Agha Hassan of the National Party of Baluchistan-Mengal, Khair Jan Baloch of the National Party, Rasheed Khan Nasar of the National Awami Party, Wali mohammad of the PPP and Abdul Wahab Atal of the PML-N were among the leaders who spoke on the occasion, Dawn reported.
The opposition alliance also organized protest meetings and demonstrations in Khuzdar, Gwadar and Hub, where local leaders spoke with the public.
They criticized the government led by Imran Khan and his leadership, saying their misguided policies had caused the country to “go bankrupt.”
Those who had promised to give 10 million jobs to the population were taking away their existing jobs, making them think about committing suicide and adding that despite the arrests and “other excesses” committed by the government they would continue their fight until it is logical. conclusion, the leaders said.
The PDM has held five similar demonstrations in Peshawar, Gujranwala, Karachi, Quetta and Multan since October 16.
