On the last leg of his three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, the Director General of the Border Security Force, Rakesh Asthana, visited the Line of Control (LoC) in the Rajouri and Poonch sector, stressing that force is the first line of defense at the border, urging her to be cautious as “China and Pakistan are planning against us.”
Although the Army has operational command of the 744 km long LoC, the BSF has also been deployed to assist the former.
“On Sunday, the third day of his visit, the Director General of the Border Security Force, Rakesh Asthana visited several advanced defense sites in the Poonch and Rajouri sector and assessed the situation. He was accompanied by SS Panwar, ADG (WC) and NS Jamwal, IG BSF, Jammu Frontier, ”said an official spokesperson.
The Director General was briefed by ID Singh, DIG Rajouri and field commanders on the LoC regarding operational readiness and the situation.
Appreciating the measures taken by the troops maintaining dominance, the Director General emphasized facing security challenges more effectively.
Praising the excellent synergy between all security forces, the Director General called on all ranks to maintain a high level of discipline and professionalism.
He also addressed Sainik Sammelan at the BSF Paloura Camp Jammu and said that since Pakistan and China were plotting against India, the role of the BSF became more important in protecting the borders.
“This is a crucial moment for all of us, as our two neighboring countries are plotting against us. Therefore, our role has become more important now, as we are the first line of Indian defense, ”the spokesperson quoted the Director General as saying.
