The Indian army has retaliated for the Pakistani shooting, he added.

“We are waiting for more details,” the official said.

On August 30, a JCO was killed in a Pakistani bombardment along the LoC in the Nowshera sector. The martyred JCO identifies himself as Naib Subedar Rajwinder Singh, who belonged to Khadur Sahib tehsil from Amritsar district in Punjab.

Last Saturday, the Border Security Force (BSF) had detected a cross-border tunnel, which originated in Pakistan and ran 150 meters into the Samba sector of the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu & Kashmir (J&K).

Pakistan has been regularly opening heavy unprovoked fire at the LoC and the International Border (IB) since the repeal of Article 370 on August 5, 2019.
