India said on Sunday that Pakistan’s allegations that Indian troops deliberately attacked a United Nations vehicle along the Line of Control (LdC) were investigated in detail and found to be in fact “incorrect and false.”
Foreign Ministry (MEA) spokesman Anurag Srivastava said Pakistan should responsibly investigate its “lapses” rather than repeat “baseless and fabricated” accusations against India to cover up its own “failure” to ensure the safety of its personnel. the UN in the territory under its control.
Pakistan alleged on Friday that Indian troops attacked a United Nations Military Observer (UNMO) vehicle in the Chirikot sector along the LoC. Indian government sources rejected the accusations that same day.
In response to media inquiries about Pakistan’s allegations, Srivastava also said that India has conveyed its findings and views on “these misrepresentations” to the Pakistani side.
“Pakistan’s allegations that Indian forces deliberately attacked a UN vehicle on December 18 have been investigated in detail and found to be incorrect and false. Our advance troops were aware of the visit by military observers. UN officials in the area and did not fire as alleged, “he said.
“Rather than repeat baseless and fabricated accusations against India to cover up its own failure to ensure the safety of UN personnel in territory under its control, Pakistan should responsibly investigate their lapses,” the MEA spokesman said.
