With the Indian Premier League (IPL) scheduled to start on September 19, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) appears to have regained the intensity of their training, as shown in recent posts on social media. KXIP posted a video of a training session between Mohammed Shami and Chris Gayle on the networks. The video was captioned as, “Pace battery vs #GayleStorm #SaddaPunjab # Dream11IPL @ MdShami11 @henrygayle.” In the video, Indian pacer Shami can be seen sending one of his deliveries to Gayle on social media, where the great Windies nonchalantly defends his.

Also, Gayle seems to be in a good mood before Sept. 19, as recent Twitter posts from the KXIP hitter suggested. Last season, Gayle played 13 games, scoring 490 runs. He also posted a high score of 99 runs in the 2019 IPL edition. In total, he hit 45 fours and 34 sixes as well. His strike rate was 151.02, with an average of 41.13.

Shami played in 14 games, pitching 324 total deliveries and conceding 469 runs. It also notched 19 plots. Meanwhile, Shami posted an economy of 8.99.

Promoted

Currently in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), KXIP will aim to have a good tournament. During the 2019 edition, the team did not qualify for the play-offs. They registered 12 points with six victories, in 14 games.

Led by KL Rahul, KXIP will play its first match against Delhi Capitals on September 20. The franchise-based T20 league has moved out of India this year due to the increase in COVID-19 cases.
